The rotation of a new water meter is not actually due to a malfunction of the meter, but rather due to the need to shut down the water during the installation of a new water meter, causing air to be introduced into the pipeline. The newly installed water meter has high sensitivity and is affected by water pressure fluctuations and "water hammer" caused by the incomplete discharge of gas in the pipeline. Sometimes there is a shaking sound inside the pipeline, which is caused by resonance. Most of the above phenomena occur because the water meter is installed too close to the inlet main pipe, which is directly affected by water pressure fluctuations and when neighbors upstairs and downstairs use water to open or close the faucet or valve. To solve this problem, the length of the water inlet pipe of the water meter can be increased, or the two ends of the water meter can be raised for treatment. When there is shaking in the pipeline, the inlet or outlet gate valve can be adjusted, and the gas in the pipeline can be discharged with a large flow rate to eliminate resonance.

Firstly, check all water consuming equipment (faucets, showers, toilets, etc.) for any leakage in the valve gauge well. If there is no leakage in the above equipment, then check the movement of the measuring water meter. If the water meter continues to rotate at a constant speed when not in use, it indicates that there is leakage. Please notify the property owner for leakage detection.

The reasons for causing lack of water or low water pressure generally include: leakage of the inlet pipe; The pipeline or water meter is blocked by debris; Damaged off gauge valves; Emergency repair and water outage. When users find that there is no water or low water pressure, they should check whether to notify the water stop; Check if the valve of the unit master meter is closed; Check if there is any water leakage in the pipeline in the table.

The valves outside the main tap water meter are for replacement and maintenance of the water meter, and users are not allowed to use them without authorization to prevent valve damage and inability to replace the meter, resulting in water shortage for users.

There may be a leak in the pipeline behind the water meter, and it should be promptly investigated and repaired. When reading a water meter, the general interpretation method is to look from low to high and record from high to low. Before recording each digit, observe the indicated position of the next pointer (over 0 or less than 0) to determine the actual digit indicated by the standard pointer. For example, if the pointer in the thousand position points to 7 and the pointer in the hundred position points to 9 (less than 0), then the reading in the thousand position cannot be 7, but can only be read as 6. When recording, if the next pointer is exactly close to "0", it cannot be simply judged as 0 or less than 0, and must be determined by the next pointer. For example, if the ten thousand pointer points to 6, the one thousand pointer just passes 0, and the one hundred pointer points to 9, then the ten thousand reading cannot simply be considered as 6 when the one thousand pointer passes 0. In fact, if the Baidu pointer points to 9, it means that the one thousand pointer is less than 0, and the ten thousand reading can only be 5. Record a thousand digit reading as 9.

1. Close the doors and windows. Rooms with installed water supply facilities such as water meters should pay attention to closing windows at night to ensure that the indoor temperature is above zero degrees Celsius. If water meters and other water supply facilities are installed in the corridor, attention should be paid to closing the corridor doors and windows at will.
2. Empty the stored water. When residents of bungalows do not use water at night, they should promptly close the water supply valve in front of the water meter, empty the water in the pipeline, and prevent the water pipe from freezing, cracking, and running. If you are not at home for a long time, you can close the valve in front of the water meter and empty the stored water in the pipeline before leaving home.
3. Wear clothes and hats. The exposed water supply pipes, taps and other water supply facilities must be wrapped with cotton and linen fabrics, plastic foam, straw mats and other insulation materials. The outdoor water meter well should be filled with sawdust, cotton wool, or other insulation materials, covered with plastic cloth, and covered with a cover to effectively prevent freezing damage to the water meter and gate valve.
4. Thawing with warm water. For frozen faucets, water meters, and pipelines, it is advisable to first wrap a hot towel around the faucet and pour warm water (not higher than 30 degrees Celsius) to thaw the faucet. Then, unscrew the faucet and slowly pour warm water along the faucet towards the pipeline to thaw the pipeline. If no water flows out when poured onto the water meter, it indicates that the meter has also frozen. At this time, wrap a hot towel around the meter and pour warm water to thaw the meter. You can also use a hair dryer to dry and thaw. However, do not use hot water to pour or grill, as it may damage the water meter and water pipes. Users can store water in advance during winter evenings to prevent inconvenience caused by freezing of water pipes the next morning.
5. Keep dry. Residents of bungalows should pay attention to the dryness of the water meter well and avoid soaking the water supply facilities with sewage.
