1. Anti freezing of water meter wells
When the temperature is very low, it is necessary to prevent the water meter from freezing. Water meters installed in outdoor water meter wells must be protected against freezing inside the well. Especially in severe cold areas, when all water points on the pipeline inside the water meter stop using water, the water inside the meter will not flow. If it is not insulated, there is a risk of freezing damage. The method of anti freezing is very simple, as long as loose insulation material is filled around the water meter in the water meter well.
2. Flood prevention of water meter wells
Water meter wells are generally installed outdoors and are designed with no groundwater. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent water from entering the water meter well and flooding the water meter. In case of rainstorm, it shall be ensured that there is no ponding at the place where the water meter well is set; If the water meter manhole cover is damaged, it should be replaced in a timely manner; When the water meter well intersects with the outdoor drainage pipe, the drainage pipe should be properly treated to prevent water leakage from the drainage pipe and sewage from flowing into the well.
3. Regular maintenance
As a measuring instrument, water meters must be regularly maintained. The maintenance cycle is determined by the usage situation, usually 2-3 years, and can also be carried out after the water meter pointer has completed one cycle. During maintenance, a comprehensive inspection should be conducted and a quantitative calibration should be conducted. Any problems found should be repaired promptly.

The personnel responsible for maintaining and managing water meters have the responsibility to promote usage methods to users, enabling them to use them correctly and extending the service life of the water meter
